Linux, and me

Someone told me Linux “just worked.” I laughed, but having nothing better to do, decided to give Ubuntu a shot. Since the website made it woefully unclear that the latest release (7.04 Feisty) was still available for PPC, I downloaded Edgy (6.10). So far it has two strikes: Airport doesn’t work without mucking about, and it shut off while asleep. However, I found a Feisty PPC download, so I’ll wipe the slate clean and start anew once I have it.

Did you wipe your Powerbook or did you repartition to fit it on there?

I backed up my whole hard drive to an image, so I can restore it at any time. However, at the moment, it’s Linux-only.

You mean the website ubuntu.com, where in the header in big letters, it says Ubuntu 7.04 download now…

Just checking.

And where it lists no PPC builds, since PPC is now a community-run project, so you have to go to the forums and find it in a thread?

Yeah, that website.

I’ll give you that, knew that there were no PPC downloads there… Point being that it says 7.04 on the main website. Check the wiki, it’s better (most of the time) https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PowerPCDownloads.
