So, after some hemming and hawing with other Mac users more into anime than I (and thus more aware of MPlayer OS X’s horrendous shortcomings in the anime-playback department), I’ve made a (slightly) easier way to play MKVs with embedded softsubs. It’s still not perfect, but it’ll do until the MPlayer devs fix their shit. [...]
